Hunger is often referred to as a faceless enemy in communities across America; however, the Greater Hanover Red Cross believes hunger does have a face, and that face may be a neighbor, co-worker, or a child you pass on the street. Your ongoing support of the Red Cross Community Food Pantry is an essential part of helping area families in their fight against hunger.
It takes only one can to start fighting hunger!
For over 80 years the Greater Hanover Red Cross has operated a community food pantry program helping area families fight hunger and food insecurity. This vital program helps to ensure families do not need to choose between feeding their children, paying their rent, or purchasing life-sustaining medications. Each year the Greater Hanover Red Cross disseminates more than $400,000 in essential food, personal care items, cleaning supplies, and infant and toddler provisions to thousands of area residents. Many of the families we serve include children, homebound seniors with little or no support, or disabled veterans. It takes only one visit to the Red Cross Community Food Pantry to see the faces of hungry children to understand the impact of this program in our community. Currently the most urgently needed items include:
The Food Pantry Program provides assistance to over 350 area families each month!
