What if I’m interested in a class but cannot pay for the course fee? Our goal at the Greater Hanover Chapter to help our community be safe and learn to respond when an emergecy requires action. Can I take a class if I have a medical condition or a special educational need? The Greater Hanover Chapter is prepared to accomodate most reasonable medical conditions or disabilities that exist and may require additional services to ensure proper training is received. Please note that some conditions may effect certification requirements in particular courses. For more information, or to pre-arrange a class that may require additional needs please contact the Health and Safety department at (717) 637-3768 ext 206.
What if I’m late to class? Since the core of most programs is taught at the beginning of class, you won’t want to miss a minute of class time. In order to maximize training time, session starting times are firm. Late arrivals are admitted at the discretion of the instructor, but tardiness may affect certification. If you arrive too late or miss a scheduled class, a re-registration fee may be assessed to register for another class.
Can I transfer or cancel a class? If you need to transfer or cancel a class, please let us know at least two full working days in advance so we may fill your space. Please be sure to call during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, excluding major holidays.) We will make every effort to accommodate your request, but refunds and transfers may not be honored if made without sufficient advance notice. A re-registration fee will be assessed if we cannot fill your space or if you miss your scheduled class.
Can lost certificates be replaced? We can send you replacement certificates for any courses taught in the Hanover Area Chapter as long as your certification is still valid. Simply provide the course name, location and completion dates when making your request. A $5.00 processing fee will be assessed for each replacement certificate issued.
Can I get sick using a manikin? CPR training with manikins is a safe and common practice. According to the Centers for Disease Control, there has never been a reported case of any infectious disease transmitted through the use of CPR manikins. To minimize your risk even further, you should practice good personal hygiene (i.e. frequent hand washing) and follow basic health precautions — especially if you have a condition that would increase the risk of exposure to infection for yourself or other participants.
