2010 "Hope for the Holidays" Program
Each year this community-supported program benefits area residents who are income eligible, experiencing serious health problems, or have fallen on hard times. The "Hope For the Holidays" Program also benefits disabled veterans and seniors who are living alone with little or no family support. We need your help to help brighten the holidays for a family in need. Please consider adopting a family, hosting an Angel Tree at your place of business or conducting a food drive. Please click here for more details.
Call 717-637-0052 during the marathon to make a pledge or announce your donation. Don't be shy - we'd love to hear from you!
Please help us to save time, reduce waste, and be safe. Watch for expiration dates and severely dented cans. Products that appear unsafe, outdated, or opened can not be accepted.
Please note: Although instant noodles are reasonable to purchase we discourage purchasing large quantities of such items. Instant noodles such a Ramon Noodles are not the most nutritious items for our pantry and become difficult to store since large quantities take up valuable and limited storage space.
Hunger is often referred to as a faceless enemy in communities across America; however, the Greater Hanover Red Cross believes hunger does have a face, and that face may be a neighbor, co-worker, or a child you pass on the street. Your ongoing support of the Red Cross Community Food Pantry is an essential part of helping area families in their fight against hunger.
We Need Your Help To Fight Hunger!
This recent photo of our community food pantry shelves demonstrates the critical need for food. Empty shelves make fighting hunger for 320 families a month, most with children, a difficult task.
